About Passionate Purpose

Amy Thomas is the founder of Passionate Purpose.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Science where she focused on sexual violence crimes.  She worked as a counselor/advocate at The Salvation Army Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center in Panama City, Fl.  She has given talks in high schools, police departments, mental health facilities, hospitals, and churches on the topics of dating, domestic and sexual violence.  As a teen, she suffered emotional, physical, and sexual abuse at the hands of two boyfriends, which took years to overcome.  She feels passionate about educating young ladies on how to have healthy, pure, and meaningful dating relationships.  As the daughter of divorced parents, she also feels passionate about fostering loving, joyful, God-centered marriages.

In 2009, she converted to Catholicism and considers it one of the greatest blessings of her life.  As one of her favorite Catholic writers, Matthew Kelly, says, “There is genius in Catholicism,” and she fully believes that this is true.  Becoming Catholic has been like opening up a treasure chest and she loves sharing her faith.  This is a place of for anyone who believes that there is more to life than what our culture offers us.

Amy hails from the great state of Kansas, though she has lived the last 14 years away from the “Land of Oz” traveling the country with her Air Force Airman.  She graduated from Kansas State University in 2001 and married her love, Dustin, that same year.  She has three amazing kiddos–two daughters and a son.
